Radfords Motel: The lakefront Radfords Motel is known for friendly, outstanding service and quality rooms (starting from $135 USD). Rooms range from studios with kitchenettes to 2-bedroom apartments that can sleep up to 6 (great for families).
Dusky Ridges Farmstay: For a unique alternative try Dusky Ridges located 5 minutes outside of town ($160 for the 2-bedroom apartment with kitchen and washing machine). The mountain views are excellent and hosts Win and Henrik will be happy to show you around their working farm.
Holiday Parks
Te Anau Lakeview Holiday Park and Te Anau Top 10 Holiday Park: Lakeview wins on location and Top 10 gets the nod on facilities. Both are quality options for the budget crowd with a variety of accommodations including motel rooms, cabins, caravan sites, and tent sites.
Wilderness Camping
Brod Bay Campground (DOC): This waterfront campground is a quick 5.6 km or one hour walking from the Te Anau control gates parking lot. There are several campsites on the beach, easy access to lake water (bring purification), and great sunsets and sunrises over Lake Te Anau. Brod Bay is a Great Walks campground (it’s on the Kepler Track) so nightly fees are $15 USD per person during the peak season.
