Crested Butte (elevation 8,885 feet) is one of Colorado’s most scenic mountain towns and there isn’t a more beautiful time to visit than during its annual Wildflower Festival. From July 13–19, 2015, the “Wildflower Capital of Colorado” will host a variety of wildflower walks and hikes, 4x4 tours, art and photography workshops, and performances. Most activities take place in the mountains surrounding Crested Butte at elevations ranging from 9,000–11,500 feet. Crested Butte also is a renowned mountain biking destination—Trail 401 starting at the Copper Creek trailhead on Gothic Road is among the best singletracks in the United States.
