1. Format  

Gear reviews will be featured on the Switchback Travel homepage. They will be published periodically according to the season and type of products to be included. Each gear review will include a detailed product description, photograph, and company information. Products should be submitted at the earliest convenience.

 

2. Products

Switchback Travel publishes content related to the outdoors and travel. Product submissions in these categories are welcome, including all outdoor clothing, footwear, equipment (including hiking, camping, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, and kayaking), as well all travel-related items. Products outside these categories will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

 

3. Review Standards

Switchback Travel will feature products that we heartily recommend to our readers. Accordingly, we will only publish positive reviews and will not publish negative reviews or comments. If we are unable to recommend a particular product, it simply will not be included in our Buyer’s Guides (time permitting, we will send our reasons for not including an item). 

 

Products under consideration will be distributed to the reviewer who best fits the particular product niche. After researching the product category, design, and features, it will undergo field-testing. At the end of the process our reviewers will rate the product on quality, comfort, and recommendability.
